Kim Musgrove's Physical Education Page

Welcome to the Trinity Physical Education page!

Pre-K students have been working on many locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative skills.  In the recent past they have been shooting basketball goals and working with parachutes, walking forwards and backwards on a floor balance beam and learning log rolls and forward rolls.  Equipment they have used includes scarves, balls of all kinds, balloons, scoops, ropes, beanbags, beachballs, paddles, and ribbon sticks.  They have also played games of Duck, Duck, Goose, Red Rover, Octupus Tag, Squid and the Great Pumpkin.  Each class begins with our exercises- jumping jacks, toe touches, twists, see-saw, pretend jump rope, hopping on one foot, balances, and jack-in-the-box.  They have shown significant improvement since school started.

In January, kindergarten and first grade students will work on ball handling skills. Second through fifth graders will work on basketball skills and play basketball lead up games utilizing the skills they have practiced.  First through fifth graders will soon be practicing in PE class their dance routines for the school musical to be held in February.  Dance is a requirement in all elementary grades and this is fulfilled through dances learned for their musical.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
